Causes of Hyperhidrosis
Excessive sweating can be caused by external influences, such as spicy food, diuretic drinks (containing caffeine or alcohol) or high ambient temperatures. However, if sweating occurs without an apparent cause and causes problems in social contact, we talk about hyperhidrosis.
Hyperhidrosis is usually hereditary; thus is not influenced by your lifestyle, eating habits or other similar things. People affected by this type of perspiration keep sweating without any obvious cause. If we examine the up-to-date medical literature dealing with the issue of hyperhidrosis, we will not find a sufficiently satisfactory answer about the causes of this disease.
Therefore, hyperhidrosis can be viewed as a congenital disease, without an apparent external cause. However, like many other diseases, excessive sweating can be successfully treated and eliminated as well. More about the medical procedures and treatment of excessive sweating is to be found in the section Methods of Treatment of Hyperhidrosis.
